Bridging the Gap
After a period where 'consolidation' was the name of the game it now appears that 'diversification' is the new buzz word on Wall Street. Leading the way is the everyone's favourite purveyor of cargo pants, The Gap. Following on from their recent marketing campaign which saw the chino champions sponsor the platforms on the London Underground (commuters were memorably told Don't Mind the Gap) the clothing firm is moving into a new field: orthodontics. Gap Tooth Dentists which launches next month in (wherelse but) Los Angeles will marry casual fashions with cutting edge dentistry. 'It's all part of developing our brand,' said Marketing Director Martin Sanchez-Miguel. The launch will feature Wyf of Bath lookalike Madonna and magician David Copperfield who will seek to drive a red double decker bus through the gap in the Material Girls front teeth. 'This launch will really capture the publics imagination,' Sanchez said. David Blaine was unavailable for comment as he has a headache. |
