Paul Daniels Crucifixtion Stunt

Vertically challenged magician Paul Daniels today revealed that from Saturday he will be nailed to a cross in London’s Trafalgar Square, where he will remain for the next 50 days.

Critic
The folically challenged member of the Magic Circle was a vociferous, and vocal, critic of David Blaine’s recent ‘man in a box’ stunt, which he described as ‘all smoke and mirrors…. nothing more than a magic trick, and a pretty poor one at that’.

Baiting
In response Blaine’s fans the world over have responded by engaging in a spot of Daniels-baiting, demanding that “if it really is so easy” - the aesthetically challenged magic man put his money where his mouth is. Well, today Daniels has done just that.

Every Second Counts
Speaking exclusively to Mr Damian, Daniels, 65, spoke about his own forthcoming endurance stunt – where his only sustenance will be vinegar proffered to him on the end of a sponge tipped lance by his wife, Debbie.

In addition, the talent challenged conjuror will be dressed in nothing more than a loin cloth and a pair of Ray Ban's designed to protect him from the glare of his wife’s smile.

Anger
News of the stunt has angered Christian groups who view Daniel’s plan as a sick parody of the suffering endured by their own leader, the aforementioned David Blaine. "Paul Daniels is not the Messiah" said one.

Pick a card, any card
Asked if he understood their concerns, or indeed if he was worried about his own welfare as a result of these planned antics, the charismatically challenged illusionist simply shrugged and said “Not a lot.”

Paul Daniels – the crucifixion – starts at 9am this Saturday in Trafalgar Square.
Debbie Magee remains much younger than him.
